Jawaharlal Nehruis the name that every Indian is aware of. Jawaharlal was quite famous among children. Due to which the children called him ‘Cha-cha Nehru’. Since he loved children so much the government celebrated his birthday as ‘Children’s Day’. Jawaharlal Nehru was a great leader. He was a person of great love for the country.
Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14th November 1889 in Allahabad. His father’s name was Motilal Nehru who was a good lawyer. His mother she played a prominent role in India’s freedom movement His father was very rich because of which Nehru got the best education.
At early age, he was sent out of the country for studies. He studied in two universities of England named Harrow and Cambridge. He completed his studies in year 1910.
Nehru was not much interested in law. He had interest in politics. Still he became a lawyer and practiced in Allahabad High Court. Then he became the leader of National Congress Party after his father Motilal.
He became the first Prime Minister of India. He was a leader, politician, and writer. He always wanted India to become a successful country. He always worked for the improvement of the country. Most importantly he gave the slogan ‘Aram Haram Hai’.
He could not bear the harshness towards the Indians by the Britishers Due to this he decided to join the freedom movement. He shook hands with Mahatma Gandhi as he loved his Nation. He joined the Non-Cooperationmovement of the Mahatma Gandhi.
He had to face many challenges while freedom fighting. He even went to jail many times. However his love for the country did not be less. He fought a great fight which resulted in Independence. India got its Independence on 15th August 1947. After his struggle of so many years they got the Independence and he was elected as the first prime minister of India.
Nehru was a modern thinker. He always wanted to make India a more modern and civilized country. He always wanted India to go in a forward direction.
