Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar in what is today India's western state of Gujarat. Gandhi’s full name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He studied law for three years in London, after which he spent his early years as a legal consultant in South Africa. Mahatma Gandhi better known as the father of Nation because it was he who got freedom for us. He was the maker of Modern India. With the help of Congress, Gandhi ji convinced people for starting non-cooperation movement in a peaceful way which is key factor to attain independence. He framed the concept of Swaraj and it became a crucial element in the Indian freedom struggle. Gandhi was very well known for his ‘BARRISTRY’ is Africa. When he came through some bad treatments from the white men, he came back to India and saw that the ‘British’ were ruling in India and were giving very bad treatment to the citizens of India, he started helping the government to have freedom. Some people say that “ Gandhi swing his stick in front of British and the they got away from India”. Gandhi was shot on 30 January 1948 by the Hindu fanatic Nathuram Godse. Mohandas Mahatma Gandhi.
