Renegades By Marissa Meyer
Author : Anantha Shri
Secret Identities. Extraordinary Powers. She wants vengeance. He wants justice.
The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies — humans with extraordinary abilities — who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone... except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice — and in Nova. But Nova's allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.
“Hero or villain, all prodigies were powerful. All prodigies were dangerous.”
To be frank, this book is adorable. This was such an amazing read, especially with morally- grey characters, who were just brilliantly written. It is the first book of the Renegades trilogy by Marissa Meyer, followed by Archenemies, and the last book, Supernova. This book has made way into my top 5 favorite series, and it deserves it, I guess...
“One cannot be brave who has no fear.”
While I admit that, yes, this may not be for everyone, I would recommend this to anyone who would listen {and those who won't}, and especially to all those superhero fans out there, especially those who love morally- gray characters.
“Heroism wasn't about what you could do, it was about what you did. It was about who you saved when they needed saving.”
In summary:
This was an amazing book, about superheroes, what heroes really are, vengeance, and, which side is the best side. I still have not decided, every side seems so right
