Nightmares are dreams that are scary or disturbing. The themes of nightmares vary widely from person-to-person, but common themes include being chased, falling, or feeling lost or trapped. Nightmares can cause you to feel various emotions, including: anger, sadness.Some bad dreams can actually represent good changes in your life. For example, death in nightmares and dreams symbolizes a new beginning. If you dream that you are dying, perhaps you are going through an important personal change in your real life.Remember, nightmares are not real and they can't hurt you. Dreaming about something scary does not mean it will happen in real life. And it doesn't mean you're a bad person who wants to do mean or scary things.A nightmare elicits a sense of fear and panic causing a person to wake up in a state of panic, fear or otherwise feeling shaken." As for the difference between a nightmare and a night terror, it's mostly about how much you remember after waking
This is partly because God uses many different means to contact us — he may reach us through another person, an image, a phrase, a feeling or even through a dream. Even if you don't think your repeating dreams are important, they often leave lingering feelings in your heart. Barrett theorizes that nightmares act as the brain's way of focusing a person's attention on issues they need to address.But nightmares, while scary, aren't always a bad thing. In many cases, they may help the dreamer ameliorate some of their daytime anxieties. Research has found that nightmares can help some people learn to better manage stress.Because nightmares may have a significant impact on your quality of life, it's important to consult a medical professional if you experience them regularly.
